I am so happy you are here. Finding a counselor that fits you can be a difficult journey; my hope is that you can find out for yourself if I would be a good fit for you as I share my perspective and experience in the therapy world.

 

I have been working in the counseling field for over ten years now, and I have learned in my experience that feeling comfortable with your therapist is the number one predictor of success. I want my clients to look forward to counseling, to feel as though it is always a safe haven to come and process the harshness of the world. From my youngest clients, two years old, to my most mature clients, I have found that we are all searching for the same thing… love and belonging, and sometimes we need to re-evaluate our strategies for achieving those goals.

 

One of my passions is working with children and families; whether you are a new mom being confronted with the new world of parenthood, a child dealing with a parent’s divorce, or parents simply looking for a support system I am here for it all. I am a licensed mental health counselor with a specialty in child mental health, this means that I have completed additional and specialized training in child mental health and have gained the experience in working directly with children and families over my ten years as a counselor. Not all counselors are trained to work with such a specialized population, and let me tell you- treating children is very different than treating adults!

 

My other passion is working with men and women affected by betrayal trauma. Bet I am a certified sex addiction therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals I use this certification to inform my treatment with the affected partner; I find this helps treatment run smoothly as I am educated on both sides of the system. The rise in problematic sexual behaviors will continue, and I would like to be part of the solution and part of that solution is being educated in the field. Finally, I am a certified clinical partner specialist through the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts and Trauma Professionals, which promotes the treatment of betrayal trauma as a trauma response and utilizes the multidimensional partner trauma model to treat that trauma.

 

I strongly believe in having specialized education in the areas in which you treat; that is why at Eidens Therapy Group we promote the right help the first time. If I am not a good fit for you, or I feel as though I cannot provide quality treatment, I will help you find the right help as soon as we come to that conclusion- no wasting time. I know how difficult it can be to keep telling your story repeatedly and not get the help you need.

I hope I can finally be the one to help you on your journey.
